Key Issues
Education
Defending the Taxpayers' Bill of Rights has to be a #1 priority in resisting against intense lobbying of corporations and special interests.
Human rights--and civil rights--must be guarded for all people in the state, regardless of immigration status.
Healthcare
We must never allow government to dictate personal decisions over our own bodies.
THE LEADER
Doug Jones is a retired business systems analyst with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a lifelong focus on improving how organizations operate. Throughout his career, he specialized in identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions—skills he now brings to public service.
Before retiring, Doug worked as an analyst in the City of Boise’s IT Department, where he helped streamline government systems to operate more efficiently and effectively for taxpayers.
Doug has been a committed Libertarian since 1980 and a member of the Libertarian Party since 1986. His long record of activism includes gathering 1,000 signatures in Idaho for the Ron Paul Libertarian presidential campaign, organizing the Eastern Idaho Libertarian Party, and serving as State Chairman of the Utah Libertarian Party. He was also the Libertarian nominee for Congress in Utah’s 3rd Congressional District in 1992 and has run twice for State Representative.
In El Paso County, Doug is the co-founder of the Green Dragon Tavern, a grassroots organization supporting liberty-minded causes. He has also served as Vice Chair and Fundraising Director for the Libertarian Party of El Paso County from 2023 to 2024.
Doug’s campaign is grounded in a simple principle: government should work efficiently, transparently, and in service to the people—not the other way around.
